В современной политической науке все шире используется понятие государственной состоятельности (stateness). Его понимание разнообразно, а опыт использования в эмпирических исследованиях достаточно велик18. При этом попытки дать новые трактовки государственной состоятельности продолжаются, в том числе и в рамках теоретизирования по поводу природы государства как такового. Необходимость дальнейшей концептуализации государственной состоятельности очевидна, однако одновременно назревает и необходимость операционализации данного понятия. Для эмпирических исследователей, компаративистов это важно само по себе. Для всех остальных, включая теоретиков и идеографов-интерпретаторов, это может способствовать более конкретному и полному уяснению понятия государственной состоятельности.
