 I walked on a little further, but couldn’t see any sign of houses or people. I was extremely tired. All I wanted to do was sleep. I lay down on the grass, which was very short and soft, and slept better than I had ever done in my life.

I must have slept for more than nine hours (я, вероятно, проспал более девяти часов) because when I woke up (потому что, когда я проснулся; to wake up) it was daylight (было совсем светло; daylight – дневной свет; день, светлое время суток). I also felt several fine threads across my body from my arms to my legs (также я почувствовал несколько тонких нитей /протянутых/ поперек моего тела от рук до ног; to feel). I heard noises around me (я слышал вокруг себя /какие-то/ звуки; to hear; noise – шум, гам; звук /обычно неприятный/), but from where I lay I could see nothing but sky (но с /места/ где я лежал, я не мог видеть ничего, кроме неба).

I was completely amazed (я был совершенно изумлен), and roared so loudly (и заорал так громко) that they all ran back in fright (что все они побежали в испуге обратно; to run).

 A moment later I felt something alive moving up my left leg, then along my body towards my face. I lowered my eyes as much as I could and saw a human creature about six inches high, with a bow and arrow in his hands. Then I felt what must have been at least forty more of the same creatures following the first. I was completely amazed, and roared so loudly that they all ran back in fright.
