Belov: Well, you know, our International Organizing Board (оргкомитет) consists of (состоять из) 10 persons, 5 from our place (от нас) and 5 from abroad. Representatives (представитель) from two countries, that is (то есть) Poland and Germany, have already arrived, you are the third to arrive today (вы третий, кто прибыл сегодня). Arriving in the evening is (вечером прибывает) Mr. Tanaka of Japan and tomorrow morning we are expecting (ожидать) Mr. Kara of Hungary (Венгрия).

Brown: So we’ll be able (мы сможем) to begin our work tomorrow as it has been planned.

Belov: We hope so (Надеемся, что да). At any rate (во всяком случае) everything has been arranged (подготовить, организовать) to do so (для этого). All in all (всего, общим счетом) we expect (ожидать) to have up to (до) 40 guests (гость) from abroad (из-за рубежа). Now the Aeroflot and the weather don’t fail (подводить) us. About (примерно, около) 15 have already arrived (прибывать) and in (через) two days each of them (каждый из них, все они) is expected (как ожидается, как предполагается) to be here (будут здесь).

Brown: I see. And what about (как насчет) the participants (участник) from Russia? Some of them (некоторые из них) seem (как кажется) to be no less distance (находятся не ближе) from here. They also have to (вынужден, приходится) fly (летать), I believe (я полагаю).

Belov: Very many of them (очень многие из них). The weather forecast (прогноз погоды) at any rate (во всяком случае) is quite satisfactory (вполне удовлетворительный) for the time being (пока, на данный момент).
